1. Incorporate full-body movements

Rather than doing single-joint exercises such as arm curls, it’s better to focus on movements that incorporate multiple joints, so that multiple muscle groups are being worked at the same time.

2. Be consistent and patient

It’s easy to get demotivated when you don’t see the results you want after a short period of time. Consistency is key. You might not notice a difference in the first few weeks because it takes time. Start with light weights and slowly work your way up. If you try to rush the process, you could end up hurting yourself. Just stick to it, and you’ll be glad you did.

3. Plan

Make plans both inside and outside of the gym. Plan your workouts beforehand so you don’t waste time in the gym deciding what to do. At the same time, to ensure you’re eating properly, plan and cook in advance, so you can just grab the food and eat. Preparation will help you get the most out of your workout.

4. Keep a record

Keep a record of both your goals and your progress. Set goals to stay motivated and push yourself to new heights. Keeping a record of workouts can show you how much you’ve improved since you began and show you that your efforts are paying off.

5. Ask for help

Although it might be intimidating, consider approaching someone to ask about form or technique advice. Remember, employees are there to help you. The gym is not a place you want to learn by mistake, so just ask!

6. Educate yourself
