Making stretching a part of your exercise routine is just as important as working out or doing cardio. The benefits of a regular stretching routine include the following:

  • It can help keep your body loose and relaxed throughout the day, especially if you spend a lot of time in the same position.
  • It can help minimize muscle and joint pain.
  • It can also increase your coordination and help you become more flexible.

Though you can stretch before you begin working out, it's just as beneficial to stretch after your warm-up or at the end of your workout when your muscles are looser from the exercises you've just completed. Always make sure to breathe while performing any stretching activity.
